Susan Church Director of Color Beyond Ink

At International Institute of Permanent Cosmetics (IIPC) we believe in the value of 'giving back' to society. My first love is devoting my time to helping burn, cancer, Vitiligo, alopecia, scarred, and cleft lip patients. These permanent cosmetic procedures and para-medical services include creating skin tones for scars and burns that blend with the patient’s own natural tissue, and scar relaxation that will enable the patients to have more maneuverability in the scarred area. For those that have alopecia (partial or total hair loss), I apply fine strokes utilizing 3 colors to create natural looking eyebrows that simulate hair and minute implants of colour that help the eye area appear to have definition. This includes scalp hair simulation that creates the semblance of baby hairs to cover the hairless areas. Cleft lip patients can have beautiful lip symmetry with their natural colour or a shade darker than their normal colour for dimension. Scarring in the philtrum area can be flattened by Skin Needling. Cancer patients that have had surgery are pleased with having a new areola and nipple in an area that once was scarred. I blend colors to achieve the appearance of a nipple with natural looking areolas. I have dedicated over 40 years to the beauty industry; over 20 of those years in the permanent cosmetics industry. My passion for my work and my compassion for those in need motivates my devotion and dedication to my work.

My name is Lorraine , when I was 15 yrs. old I was diagnosed with a chronic illness.
Over the next several months the doctors tried different medications to help my
condition. One of the many side affects I suffered was partial loss of my eyebrows. I am
now 45 yrs. old and through my teens , young adulthood and even up to now I have had
to endure jokes, laughs and jabes over the lack of brows ,along with the health issues.
Having to look in the mirror and see that part of me missing everyday was a big deal for
me. And at times very depressing. I remember thinking that one day they would grow back. And when that didn't happen, I knew there was no way I would every have eyebrows. Then in Nov. 2008 on the front page of our local paper there was an article about medical tatooing and Nancey Collette . It was saved for me and brought to my
attention by my husband in march of this year. I called and got an appointment with
Nancey, and 2 visits later 30 yrs. of prayers were answered. I have 2 beautiful eyebrows.
I could not believe that was me in the mirror. I didn't even look like the same person.
People that know me do a double take. They will say, what's different about you? you look great. I just smile. Thanks to Nancey and Color Beyond I got much more than eyebrows , I feel complete when I look in the mirror.

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is written in support of the services provided by Nancey Collette. As an emergency physician working in an academic medical center for over 25 years, I often see patients with the scars and disfigurement of cancer and cancer surgery. I often see patients without eyebrows, eyelashes, and areola.

With the expertise of tattooing, this problem can be resolved. To have someone with Nancy’s expertise offer this service for patients who are underserved and uninsured is a much needed service, and the right thing to do.

This is a service which meets the needs of our patients, and helps them physically, mentally, and emotionally.

I hope that Nancey will be able to pursue her goals and obtain the funding necessary to maintain her mission of helping those in need. She has my full support. If you have any questions regarding Nancey, please don’t hesitate to call.
