Nancey Collette

Founder/President, Master Nail Artist, Para-medical Tattoo Artist

Nancey Collette, founder and president of Color Beyond Ink and   president of The Resort Day Spa & Salon, Inc., In Winston-Salem, North Carolina, began her career in the early '80's as a loan officer with Wachovia Bank & Trust in downtown Winston-Salem.

A career move to American Express in Greensboro two years later carried her, within a year, to the role of Accounts Service Supervisor/Team Leader, fulfilling her next thirteen years. All was well, until the morning she heard a new voice speak. At that moment the business career Nancey had pursued began to assume its most unexpected turn, an entrepreneurial quest attentive to bettering the lives of others.

A dynamism of the spirit of serving comes innate with Nancey, her articles of trade the international profession of nail artistry and permanent cosmetics. From those beginnings and the following acquired credentials, the founding of Color Beyond, Inc. for the purposes of enriching life by amending medical disfiguring conditions, came into being.

1991. Established The Nail Resort Spa & Tanning Salon, Inc.
2004. Opened The Resort Day Spa & Salon in Winston-Salem,
(to present date).
2006. Acquired grand master's certificate from The Creative Academy for Nail Design.

Michael T. Smith

Combining the great indoors and outdoors into a business career of diverse professions, Michael T. Smith founded and became president of M & N Grading & Landscaping, Inc., taking the company from a small enterprise to a company whose concentration centered on the building and designing of quality log cabin homes. Mainaining a presence within the same trade, today he is equally at home as director and vice-president of The Resort Day Spa & Salon, Inc., of Winston-Salem, North Carolina,

Acquiring early in life a deep respect for nature and the life it nourishes, Michael is an avid hunter in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, as well as a licensed commercial fisherman in North Carolina.

At thirty-six, Michael is one of a few in the country nationally recongnized as a licensed male nail artist in the spa and salon industry. Having found his appreciation for varying forms of artistic expression and the creativeness it speaks from his grandmother, Nancey R. Collette, whose passion for painting was a sparkle in the life of her mother, Kate, Michael's cultural dimension adds new meaning to the functionality of boardroom meets.

Michael's approach to business and to people is to provide a fair and quality service augmented by reputable products,all strengthened by caring, concern and compassion. In 2005 Michael married the former Dawn Presley of Winston-Salem. They, along with her two sons and Lucy, their purebred chocolate lab, reside in the countryside of Davie County.

 

Katie Collette

Katie Collette, of Mocksville, North Carolina, spent ten years traveling as a market ing and sales executive for a national manufacturer of picture frame materials before acquiring her family's business, Collette Art & Framing, Inc., as owner and president mid 1980's. Collette Art specializes in fine art, home decor and conservation quality custom picture framing for home and office. Its establishment date is 1971.

Katie is active in her hometown Rotary Club, serviing on its board of directors eight years and is active in her local Lion's Club, serving as treasurer four years. She serves as a council member for Leadership Davie, an initiative of Davie County's Chamber of Commerce to bring forth the next level of responsible and qualified leaders.

Earning her BA in economics and management from Salem College,  Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1983, volunteerism, museum touring and four-mile walks are her pasttimes.

Susan Church

Director of Education for International Institute of Permanent Cosmetics

Susan is a nationally recognized permanent cosmetics make-up artist, pioneer, educator, lecturer, and successful practitioner in the field of Microdermal Pigmentation, (cosmetic and paramedical tattooing).

She serves as an 'Expert Witness' in permanent makeup court cases.

She Co-founded and is the past president and board member of the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals (SPCP), and was their Education Advisor for the SPCP for 2004-2005.

She has written dozens of articles on Permanent Cosmetics, Skin Needling, Corrective Pigment Camouflage, that have been published and has been written about in magazines such as 'ALLURE', Skin Inc.

Ms. Church was featured on 'EXTRA,' 'Special Assignment on CBS,' 'Women's Lifetime Network,' and the 'Rise and Shine Show.'

She was the 'only' Permanent Cosmetic Make-up technician in the state of California that has been 'Appointed to California Conference of Local Health Officers Task Force.' This task force "is for the purpose of recommending legislation concerning licensing, training, sanitation, and other subjects deemed necessary to protect the health and welfare of persons seeking the services of practictioners of tattooing, body piercing, and permanent cosmetics."

Ms. Church was an honored contribution author in the medical textbook 'Aesthetic Restoration of the Disfigured Face' by Dr. Elliot Rose, and 'Beautiful Again - Restoring Your Image and Enhancing Body Changes' byJan Willis of the Cleveland Clinic.

She was also featured in 2 chapters in Success Without College - Careers in Cosmetology by: Mary L. Dennis.

Ms. Church lectures for Orange County, Riverside County, and San Diego County Monterey County Health Departments and California Alliance for the Promotion of Safe Body Art (CAPSBA) in the State of California.

Ms. Susan Church has been in the beauty industry since 1967 and has remained a leader in the Permanent Makeup industry since 1989.

Susan started modeling in the 7th grade and has modeled for runway, print ads, stage, and had one of her ads appear on a billboard. She also applied models makeup and did hair styling for beauty pageants.

Her background business, owning several full service salons and specializing in makeup artistry, has allowed her the opportunity to exercise her first love: working on burn survivors, cancer patients, children with alopecia, and anyone who has a disfigurement where she can enhance their natural beauty.

She co-founded the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals, is a past president and board member and was the 'Education Advisor' for the SPCP 2004-2005.

Susan has educated over 11,000 licensed professionals in the beauty and make-up industry, physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel in the twenty years.

She co-wrote certificate exams for Allied Health Assocoation, the SPCP and Oklahoma State Board for permanent cosmetic makeup artists.

Susan is the 'Director of Education' for IIPC and instructs & lectures for several companies.

She is also the Clinical Director of Research and Development.

She lectures for'Department of Health' on industrial machine safety.

She is also a guest speaker every three months for 'Golden West College' aesthetics department. She lectures on correct application, sanitation, sterilization, machine choice, colour theory as well as letting the students making eyebrows and lips on practice leather pads to show them correct techniques.

She developed the 'Designer Series' pigment colours for Tri-Lab Products in 1991 and developed the pigment colour line 'Absolute Perfection' for IIPC.

She also developed an anesthesia 4 years ago. She performed a double-blind study, then held a contest and let her students give this great topical anesthesia a name. The students came up with the name 'Magic,' because they all said it numbs like 'Magic' and other topicals cannot compare to it.
